Five time champ reunited with trophy

It is always great to see Rodney Foster in the clubhouse and on the course. He has some fabulous stories about his golfing days.

But it was really special to reunite him with the Yorkshire Amateur Championship Trophy which he entered five times and won it…five times!

Rodney was one of Britain’s best amateur golfers, captaining the GB&I Walker Cup team twice, and we are immensely proud to have him as an honorary life member. 

The Yorkshire Union of Golf Club’s allowed us the privilege of displaying this magnificent trophy at the men’s prize presentation dinner, as this year’s champion was Ilkley member Max Berrisford.
